Who we are

AP Marine is a private SME providing research, survey and consultancy services in the Marine Enviromnent. AP Marine provides services mainly in the fields of marine biology, fisheries and aquaculture. Additionally it regularly host interns and professionals, and assist, guides and provides support in projects in related fields collaborating with Universities, Research Institutes and NGO’s. It has developed over the years a close collaboration with all authorities and stakeholders in Marine Environmental sector and fisheries associations. The company has capabilities in carrying out field surveys including sampling and analytical, quantitative and interpretative assessment as well as in house laboratory analysis of biological samples. AP Marine is a regular service provider to Department of Fisheries and Marine Research (DFMR) as well as other Governmental Departments and has many years of experience in collaborating with many authorities as well as Fisherman Associations which it also represents at various national and EU levels.

Story

Since 2003, AP Marine employs scientific and technical personnel specialising in marine biology, ecology, fisheries, aquaculture, oceanography and marine sciences in general. Being active in Cyprus since 2003 when Nature 2000 areas where defined, it is actively involved in providing scientific information and creating collaborations with all stakeholders in both private and public sectors in order to promote the sustainable use of the Marine Environment. In the last five years AP Marine has been involved in experimental fisheries surveys both as providing services to DFMR and as independent collaborator to other projects.

Activities

Its main field of activity is that, it carries out fisheries based assess surveys utilizing both onboard and in water (diving) methodologies in Marine Protected Areas, Natura 2000 sites as well as other areas of particular conservation interest. One of the main areas of activity are surveys within Marine Protected Areas, Natura 2000 sites as well as other areas of conservation interest. AP Marine has collaborated in the mapping and management of protected areas as well as in research activities and policy making activities. Additionally, it collaborates closely with NGO’s active in Marine Conservation.
