MARINE SCIENTIST/ RESEARCHER

Soteria-Irene Hadjieftychiou is a Marine Scientist and Researcher with extensive experience in marine environmental monitoring, fisheries data collection, and ecological analysis. Holding an MSc in Occupational Safety and Health and a Bachelor’s degree in Marine Sciences, she has contributed to numerous national and international research projects, including large-scale monitoring programs and EU-funded initiatives. Her expertise includes benthic macrofauna analysis, fish species identification, otolith reading for age estimation, and seagrass (Posidonia oceanica) assessment. She has significant field and laboratory experience, participating in offshore sampling campaigns, data analysis, and scientific reporting. Through her work, she supports sustainable fisheries management, marine biodiversity conservation, and the implementation of environmental policies in Cyprus and the wider Mediterranean region.
