Antonis Petrou
Founder/DirectorAntonis Petrou serves as the Director of AP Marine Environmental Consultancy Ltd., bringing over 24 years of experience in marine environmental surveys and consultancy. He began his career as a marine biologist in the public sector before transitioning to the private sector, where he has spent most of his career as a researcher and consultant. In 2003, he founded AP Marine to provide specialized services in marine environmental sciences.
Antonis has developed extensive expertise across multiple disciplines, specialising in marine environmental surveys, strategic and environmental impact assessments, biological monitoring of marine habitats, fish and cetacean surveys, habitat mapping, bathymetric surveys and ecological assessment. His consultancy work spans from fisheries and aquaculture sectors to the oil and gas industry where he has successfully delivered services to governmental and private clients in Cyprus, the EU, and the Middle East. In addition to his consultancy role, Antonis serves as the Scientific Associate of the Cypriot Coastal Fisherman’s Association and is a member of the Board of Directors at Enalia Physis Environmental Research Center, an NGO focused on environmental research. He also represents the Cyprus Small Scale Fisheries Sector at Mediterranean and EU level, Chairing the Focus Group on the Eastern Mediterranean and Co- Chairing the Focus Group on Small Scale Fisheries in the Mediterranean within the Mediterranean Advisory Council (MEDAC).
