Irene Valando Papageorgiou

Irini Valanto Papageorgiou worked for AP Marine since October 2020 as Marine Researcher Intern. Irini has recently graduated from the University of Saint Andrews with a master’s degree in Marine Ecosystem Management. Some of her research included analysing Jellyfish sighting from citizens science programs and the effects of costal development on the marine biodiversity in Cyprus. She has extensive experience on marine sampling techniques in the field, including boat work, scientific diving and costal environment survey methods, as well as laboratory work. Her office duties include data sorting and statistical analysis for national projects, such as the monitoring of artificial reefs and fishing projects in Cyprus. Additionally, she assists in report production and in field or laboratory work. Irini’s interests include scuba diving, underwater photography, statistical analysis of environmental data and researching biodiversity changes.
