Tender no.33/2015, was awarded by the Department of Fisheries and Marine Research, of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment to AP Marine Consortium (AP Marine Environmental Consultancy Ltd, Marine Conservation Research Ltd and Dr Alexandros Frantzis).

The project was 75% funded by the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund 2014-2020 and 25% by national funds.

The survey aimed at:
• Comprehensive assessment of cetacean presence, distribution and population size.
• Identify critical habitats and areas where threats arise.

Three surveys successfully completed in August 2016, November 2016 and May 2017.
